Striezelmarkt Dresden
The Dresdener Striezelmarkt (Christmas market) starts again from 26.11. until 24.12.2009 at the Old Market Square opposite the Kulturpalast instead. He is the oldest Christmas market in Germany and was founded in 1434 for the first time mentioned. Traditionally again the great figures of the snowman and the nutcracker in the middle of the Christmas hype. A highlight is the historical Christmas market in Stallhof. Allerlei artisans show their wares from the Middle Ages, such as blacksmiths or printer and medieval cooking skills will be presented. For fun and entertainment is provided by comedians and jugglers. Is named after the Striezelmarkt Striezel tunnel, the forerunner of the famous Christmas Stollen.
